Letters stacking up on each other

Please help! Everytime I open word, letters get stacked up on each other.
It looks like garble instead of correctly spaced out words and sentences.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Delete and reinstall the printer driver. You had better check at the Printer
support site to make sure you have the latest driver for your printer first:
install that if they do.
