Level1Remove not working on OL 2003

Hi there,
I am trying to disable attachment blocking on Outlook 2003.
I have added the Level1Remove entry to the security settings but it has no
effect. Does this work on 2003?

The local registry edit is only applied if you logon locally to your
host. If you are logging under a domain, the group policy for that
domain will override any "personal" local settings you have regarding
attachment security configured in your local registry. Are you logging
onto a domain?

Yes I am logging on to a domain, but there is no group policy for Outlook.

The Level1Remove key works in OL2003. Just to verify, you created the
Level1Remove key at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

The Level1Remove key is a string value that contains a semi-colon ";"
delimited list of attachment types?

eg. if i wanted to unblock access databases and pst files, the key would
look like "MDB;PST" (drop the double quotes of course)

I managed to get it working. There was a Level setting also under the
Security key. I changed this to 0 and now I can access the attachments.

umm... that level key controls macro security and not the level1remove key.
what you did is just knock macro security down to low.

Did you actually talk to your Exchange admin to determine that they do
NOT have Exchange configured as to what fileype attachment restrictions?
If the Exchange admin hasn't done any tweaking, the filetypes that get
restricted by Exchange will be the same as those blocked by Outlook
*without* the registry hack regarding Level1Remove.

Read the section titled "Exchange environment".
