leveling delay moves much farther out than expected

Hello All,
Possibly someone can advise on this issue.
Environment: Project 2000, XP

I have a workflow.mpp that has multiple projects containing virtually the
same linked, fixed-duration, sequential tasks with priority assigned only to
those tasks (and not to summary tasks). I use resource sharing with a basic
standard calendar, leveling is set to "priority/standard" and tasks are not
to be split or re-assigned. Single entity "work" resources are assigned to
tasks which are to be delayed accordingly if their priority is lower. For the
most part, MSP behaves as expected with the following peculiarity:

Similar tasks with the same resource assigned (different prorities) do not
follow each other sequentially, i.e. task1 (project2) doesn't immediately
follow task1 (project1) timewise; it might schedule earlier or many days
later.

I can't find a reason for this. Can someone shed some light please? I'd
attach files or screenshots but there's no facility to do that in this forum.

Barring very busy schedules and possible technical problems; can I anticipate
a response to my follow-up message? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jan,
Sorry, no need to yell. No, I haven't seen any continuance to this thread
thinking that's where responses would post. I also checked my personal and
work email bins but without results. Were your responses in a different post?

Can't find them,
Respectfullly,

Ok, I simply answered to the mail address you used to send the file ande
then twice again to recall.
Simply "Reply" in Outlook Express.

I did not get a message that the mail could not be delivered, so I know it
was delivered, and that could only be to the address you sent the mails
from.
Do you use a different address to send and to receive? This is the first
time I hear of something like that.

So, for the fourth time:

It isn't leveling that puts these tasks where they are, it are the
constraints on the summary tasks, so it is you who tells Project not to
schedule them as soon as possible.

Hope this helps,

Aha! I'm sure it was my settings in the project.....just didn't know which
one or combination(s) to re-work. I'll check the summary tasks for the lack
of the "as soon as possible" constraint.

Thank you very much for your help. I apologize for the frustration I caused
you.

Respectfully,
