Leveling Wont Cure Over-Allocation w/ Re-occurring Tasks?

B

Bob

I have Leveling set to "automatic" and "priority, standard". When I assign a
resource to a task Project automatically will push out some tasks to solve
overallocation for that resource. But, when a re-occurring task is involved
Leveling can't seem to solve the problem.

I tried lowering the priority of re-occurring tasks (from 1000) so they can
be moved, but this doesn't seem to help. Why won't project move the
"non-re-occurring" tasks when re-occurring tasks are involved?

Thanks, -Bob

Hi Bob,

We have a small problem here.
On my system it works without problem.

Could it be that there is no overallocation in the time period leveling
takes?
Fi if leveling is set by week it will not move two taks occurrint the same
day if there is no overallocation on week level (but the resorue is still
overallocated)

Even more likely, did you assign the resource to the individual tasks rather
than to the recurrint (summary) task?
