Licence problems with Office 97

I've recently taken on a bit of work at a company, taking responsibility for
making sure all the software in use is licensed correctly, and I've come up
with two problems...

Two PC's have Office 97 SR1 on, both using the same licence number. There's
no packaging anymore, so how can I check to see if a) they're not part of a
multi-user deal (does such a thing exist for just 2 users?), and b) how can
I go about licensing them correctly.

The other problem is with a single PC, where all the software (Windows 95
and Office 97) appears to be licensed to the original vendor. Again, how can
I check they're licensed correctly?

Thanks in advance.

Do they have invoices? That's about all that's left to prove they bought
it.

Sadly not. It's a small charity run by three people who finally seem to
realise they might need to be at least slightly professional...

Approaching the question from another angle, is there any way two PC's could
legally run Office 97 with the same licence number?

Having the "paper" license is the the "proof" regardless what number was
used to actually install with. It sounds like they don't have anything
to prove it's legit. If they want to stay with 97 then E-bay is probably
the route to go otherwise something like OpenOffice is cheap. Or perhaps
a donation from a business.

Hi Phil,

You may want to look at the information and
