License agreement

According to the agreement I am able to use my Office program on my laptop and another personal laptop. I have mine and my wifes that we both use in the house. My wife's computer hard drive had to be replaced. I had to reinstall everything and now Microsoft will not allow me to use Office as it says I do not have the license to use it. I have been using this for 4 years without a problem.
This is very frustrating.
Any thoughts?

You don't say which version of MacOffice you're talking about, but for
Office 2004 full (or upgrade) versions, the license allows you to
install a copy on a laptop *for the primary user's exclusive use*.

That mean's you can't use it on two machines at the same time (at least
on the same local network).

If you want both machines using Office at the same time, you need two
licenses.
