License for using vdx files

Rickard Haake

Hello!

I have a question about transforming existing xml files to vdx files for use
in Visio. This is for use internally within our company, do we need any
license for doing this?

vdx files are xml (text) AFAIK you don't need a license for text files. You
might check to see if somebody converted content that is owned by somebody
else, that of course is between you and them.. If you're using Visio to
convert them, then of course your copy of Visio has to be licensed.

...and, if you do manage to create the vdx files correctly, then they should
render in the Visio Viewer.
