License issue

I have 1 license of Office 2004

Its installed on 2 laptops thats networked.

I understand that only 1 laptop can use the license at a time.

However this is the situation:

When laptop B initiate the Office 2004 program, it will automatically
cause Laptop A (which already have Office 2004 initiated prior) to
quit the application.

However, when Laptop A tries to start the application after Laptop B
has done so, Laptop B doesn't quit the application and laptop A won't
start the program either.

Why is this so?

Hmm... I thought that the second situation would always apply - i.e., if
laptop A has an Office App running, it should continue running and
Laptop B should refuse to start.

The only way I can think of for this to happen is that Laptop B, for
some reason, isn't receiving the feedback from Laptop A that it's
running the app, and Laptop A finds the app running when it makes a
periodic check, so thinks Laptop B has priority. But that's pure
speculation - I'd want to sniff the network to see what signals are
going out on which ports to be sure.

Yeah I thought so too.
Not too sure about the network setup.
But thanks for your comments!
