Diane thank you this was most helpful. I deleted the two files. The computer
asked me to register but I could not because I am currently off line (this
e-mail is from another computer).
Registration is NOT required. It does nothing but give you the opportunity
to opt in for a Microsoft newsletter. "Registration" has nothing to do with
the operation of the software - unlike the Activation required for MS
Windows software.
The computer then restored the two files.
The actual problem is HD:Applications:etc picks from somewhere an owners name
and a company name to put on the applications as they open and on the work
product. It is picking up my password for the company name. I changed the
Company name in HD:Applications:etc to "0" and "0" now appears on the
applications as they open. Either HD:Applications:etc is programed wrong or I
put my password in the wrong place at some point in the set-up procedure. Do
you know where it draws from? Thanks
It could be picking up the info from the Apple Address Book. I know when
I've done "Erase & Install" then installed Office from the CD, it would have
my info. It had to come from what I entered during the OS setup. I believe
that is stored in the Apple Address Book.
Inside the Office folder, you should be able to find the Setup Assistant and
run it again.
