License of OEM Office 2007

Hi,
I have a new computer that has Office 2007 OEM version installed. It has
two hard drives installed as well. I installed the Beta version of Windows 7
on the second drive so it dual boots. Can I install the Office 2007 on the
second operating system since it's on the exact same computer? I was
wondering how Office 2007 works with Windows 7 :)! Thanks for any help with
this question :)!
Best Regards Melissa Rose

Hello Melissa

You probably and most likely have a Trial version of Office on your new OEM computer
which is not needed to be installed again (duplicated).

BUT what interests me the most is how do you dual boot with a IE7 Beta alone on your
second hard drive and why do you have IE7 Beta installed at all along with Windows 7

OP says, "I installed the Beta version of Windows 7". I don't see any
mention of IE7. If she has a trial version of Office on drive 1, afaik she
can install another trial version on drive 2. If she has a real OEM version
(Office Basic?) with install media and a valid product key, that should work
too since it is the same computer?

Melissa, it would be good to know whether you have a trial version or a
"real" OEM version. Most of the people posting here about an OEM version
actually have a trial version, but I see from the Office web site that there
actually is an OEM version too.

Hi Guys :),
Thanks for your input. It's not a trial version. It is a full -OEM -
version. I have Windows XP Pro installed on my main drive along with Office
2007. On my Storage drive (2nd Drive) I installed the Beta of Windows 7. When
I boot my computer I can either boot into XP Pro or I can boot into the new
Windows 7 Beta. I want to put the Office 2007 on the Windows 7 Beta to see
how they work together. The Windows 7 Beta expires in August and so I wasn't
sure if this is allowed :). Thanks So Much for the help :)!!!
Best Regards Melissa Rose

Retail versions count each installation, i.e. on a partition, as a separate
use of the license. You on the other hand have an OEM version, which can
only be installed on one computer. I would interpret this as meaning that
you could install it as many times on that one computer as you wanted, but
check your EULA for sure.

In Word, Excel, Access or PowerPoint:
1.. Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Program Name
Options, where Program Name is the name of the program you are in, for
example, Word Options.
2.. Click Resources, and then click About.
3.. Click View the Microsoft Software License Terms.

FYI, Office 2007 works very well with Windows 7, both the 7000 and 7057
versions of Win7.
