License terms for Office 2003

Tim Bate

With previous versions of office a single license could
be loaded on a single owners desktop and a laptop. This
was also the way Windows XP was licensed. I was told at
the Best Buy store that Office 2003 can only be loaded on
one or the other - I want to read the license before I
open the product but am unable to find a copy on the
Microsoft site. Can anyone shed some light on the issue

I'm not aware of any license agreement for WindowsXP which permits
installation on multiple machines. In contrast, Office may be installed on
one desktop and one laptop.

How many times can I install Office 2003 Editions?

Twice. You can install one copy of Office 2003 Editions on your main
computer and another on your laptop computer for your exclusive, but
non-concurrent use. You can work with Office 2003 Editions at your desk and
when mobile. To install a version of Office 2003 Editions on more than these
two devices, you must obtain another license for the program. Note Licenses
for the 2003 release of Office acquired preinstalled on new computers are
single-computer licenses that cannot be transferred or installed on another
computer.
