I purchased Word and installed it on my desktop
computer. Can I install it on my laptop also or do I
need to purchase another.

You may install it on a desktop and on a laptop as long as you do not use
them simultaneously. That is, if you are away from your desktop using Word
on your laptop, no one else may use the desktop.

Provided the version is not an OEM version supplied with a PC, Microsoft
licensing allows you to install Word on a desktop and a laptop.
