I purchased Microsoft Office XP Professional and
installed it on my laptop. Now, I just bought a new
desktop with out Office XP Professional. Can I install
this product on this new computer since they are both
mine?

One desktop and one portable is the normal licensing model. However, read
your EULA to find out for sure. Open any Office program, and on the
Help->about menu is the option to view the entire license.
