Licenses fo rthe home

Can you purchase licenses to install software on more than 1 computer. I have 3 other computer at home. It seems expensive to have to buy each computer its own software. A small fee should all you need to do to allow this feature.

Yes, you can buy multiple licenses. I just don't have a clue as to where on
Microsoft's web site you can do it.

.
I have the same problem. I just bought a new laptop in
addition to our desktop, and want to install Office XP
for Students and Teachers on the new computer. Like you
I find it a bit much to have to buy the same software
again.

I thought Office STE licence allowed installation on up to 3 PC's?

It does, but your original post did not specify the version of Office that
you were asking about.

Don't know if this helps but I had a similar question and
I just got off the phone with MS about it. I have a
retail copy of Office 2003 Pro and recalled from the past
that MS allows you to install it onto ONE desktop and ONE
laptop computer. I just confirmed this with support.
This policy is stated in MS knowledgebase article Q285198
for Office 2K but is still applicable to the latest
version. The tech emphasized that it had to be a RETAIL
version of the software though.. No OEM or Corporate
licensed version.

Quote from Q285198
"The Microsoft End User License Agreement for
applications products permits you to install the product
on one computer only. If you are the primary user of the
product, you can also install one copy on your laptop
computer, for your exclusive use only. If you need to
install on more than one computer or a qualifying laptop,
you must acquire more than one license of the software
product. One of the purposes of the Microsoft
Registration Wizard is to provide helpful reminders to
honest customers to assist them in complying with the
license agreement, so that they do not inadvertently
install illegal copies. "
