Licensing of InfoPath 2007

Hi, as the browser based infopath becomes available, how will licensning work?
Supose you have many named users who might use a "suggest for improvement"
form/application. Could the browerbased infopath be used to create a decent
licensing cost? As for now everyone using the thick client requires a 2000
SEK licens and thats quite costly, concidering that many people wnat ever use
the form... What will the requierments be and could the application use user
at the same time - licensing in stead? or could a way around this problem be
to install it on a terminalserver and have one loggin/published to start a
thick client in a window, sharing this with everyone that wants to use the
form (from a intranet site)

Hello FredrikN,

What I understood from your question is that you dont want to incur huge
cost on Licencing Infopath but at the same time want users to fill out the
Infopath from the browsers.
Yes Browser based Infopath forms can be filled out by users from any machine
where there is no Infopath installed. It means you need no infopath to fill
out the forms. Users just open the Infopath forms from the link to which the
form is published. But be aware that there are certain limitations on the
infopath Controls.

I hope I got your question right.

Hi Kalyan,
Thanks, a good answer that clarifies it a bit. What if i want to use the
"real" thick, infopath if for example if we need some controls not available
in the web-scenario. Is there an enterprise licensing solution available thus
counting simultain users in stead of named ones? as for example the SQL that
use to have an Internet licens that made all access "free" in stead of per
seat etc. and will the thick InfoPath requier word or other office components
as well, or can it be installed separatly

regards
Fredrik
