Licensing

Hi,

I would thank anyone that could provide assistance with this matter:

I have a small business customer who is in the middle of a complete pc
refresh, I plan to buy the new PC´s with Office 2003 OEM for each new PC,
however I am in doubt as to what would be the best purchase option.

I have been considering buying the OEM version of Office 2003 and as part of
another purchase to buy Software Assurance for the product through Open
License, however I have a doubt as to wether I could eventually move the
licenses to different PC's, because If the customer renews Software
Assurance every two years around 2008 the product that will replace Office
2003 would probably not run in the original PC's we are purchasing.

Thanks for any help.

No you couldn't. OEM means exactly that - OEM. Open licensing doesn't apply
to an OEM licence. OEM licences are tied to the system they came with -
forever.
