Light WORD file

Hi
I have a heavy WORD file with many drawings attached "by
link", many cross-references, hyperlinks, etc.
I'd like to pass this file to my readers in a light
version (for read only), which is treated much easier.
Today it takes almost 5 minutes to open, I have to send
all my insert drawings, etc.
Something PDF alike, but still WORD, but light.
Any idea?

Most of the processing will be related to the graphics. If they are all
linked, and the source files are all in the same folder, you could create
another folder with the same set of files but at a much lower resolution;
then swap the two folders.
