Limit characters to a test box

Hi All

Is there a way that I can limit tha amount of character that a user puts in
a text field. I have tried to use the Data Validation and I guess that I am
doing something wrong.........possibly.

What I want is the text box only to accept 40 characters, including any
spaces. Possibly when the user has reached the maximum a mesage appears or
something to tell the user that they have exceeded the limit.

I am flexible in how the message is displayed and how it is actioned.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Hi

Nice and Easy

Right click on your text box, go into properties, then display.

Then look for the Tick Box 'Limit text box to' then choose the amount of
characters from there.

Hope this helps, makes my job a lot easier.
