Limit in the num. of emails in a single Outlook folder

Is there a limit in the number of email that Outlook 2007 can contain
in a single folder?
If so, does that limit include all the email contained in its
subfolders too?

Every folder can contain at a minimum 64K items (size doesn't matter) and
the entire data store can contain at a minimum 20GB.

Minimum or maximum?

Anyway where can I find a counter of the number of email in a folder?

2003 and 2007 with Unicode pst format support unlimited items per folder.
The max message store is 20 GB by default (controlled by a reg entry) - can
be increased.

ANSI (old pst format) is limited to 2 GB pst and no more than 64,000 items
per folder, depending on the version of outlook the pst was created in (can
be as low as 16,000 items)

items = messages, contacts etc, subfolders, published forms, hidden items.

If you use your folder list view, each folder you highlight will show a count
for you in the bottom left-hand corner of Outlook.
If you right-click on Outlook Today in the folder list, scroll to mailbox
properties, select the General Tab and click the Folder Size button. This
will show you not only your entire mailbox size but the size of each folder
as well.

the status bar should show the total count of visible items and you can see
subfolders (each counts as 1 item - contents of subfolders count only for
the folder) - published forms are on the Actions menu. Hidden items can't be
easily counted, except by looking at the folder with outlook spy and
counting them yourself. In most cases, you shouldn't have many hidden items
in folders other than the inbox.

How large is your data file? did you create it using outlook 2007 or use one
created in an older version?

Minimum or maximum?

Every folder can contain at least 64K items. With Outlook 2002 and earlier,
that was the maximum per folder. There is no documented maximum for Outlook
2003 an 2007 using a Unicode PST. The folder file itself has a preset
maximum of 20GB, but that can be increased in the registry.
Anyway where can I find a counter of the number of email in a folder?

The Status bar at the bottom will show you the number of items in the
currently opened folder. Right-click a folder, choose Properties, then
select the "Show total number of items" radio button if you want to see the
count in the Navigation Pane. There's no way to show number of items in all
folders at once.
