Limit the number of email messages kept exchange server?

I would like to only keep a date filtered number of email messages on the
exchange server but have all email messages automatically download into my
personal file. The messages in the personal file and server do not need to be
synchronized.

Is this possible? A server rule perhaps?

Set the Exchange mailbox store as your default delivery location in your
account settings. Then configure AutoArchiveto move your messages to a
pst-file after x number of days.
