Limited by Outlook time period date ranges

Trying to use Outlook to capture time (ie., hours per day) instead of using
My Timesheet and My Tasks in PWA 2007, but we may have a problem and would
like to check with the newsgroup.

Outlook does not seem to allow editing of time periods beyond a couple of
weeks or so from the planned dates of the assignments.

Is this normal? If so, then how would someone be able to enter a few
actuals hours against a task that they've just worked on which was scheduled
to start a few weeks later?

You will either have to use PWA or need to custom develop a solution around
Outlook and Project Server to acheive your request.
