Limiting values in a combo box based on the value selected in anot

I ahve form where the ulitmate goal is to select a person, however potentialy
they could be over 200 names to pick from, impracticle in a drop down list,
so I want to be able to get the user to select the the following, limiting
the value to applicable options in the next box (if you get my drift)

Site
Divison (only divisions for selected site allowed)
Department (only departments within divison, site cobination allowed)
Person (only peple in department, divison, site selectable)

How can I do this?

Is the a more elegant method of doing this than using cascading drop down
lists?
