Using for MSP Pro2003 and Project Server on Multiple Vendor program. The PMO
wants to insert resource Rates into the work plans, but wants to limit
visibility to folks w/PMO Project Manager Permissions to be the only
individuals who can expose these rate fields...
Situation:
- 10 subs/project managers who have MSP 2003, will be pulling plans from
server. And updating these plans via the fat client. They will not have
administrative access to the tool, nor will they be able to run direct SQL
queries.
- In some cases work plans my contain more than tier one sub.
- 400 people using PWA only.
- Part of our reporting set includes SPI/CPI, so we as we don't want these
subs to each other's rate information, we've loaded all resources at $1, so
the EV calcs will work on an hours, but not dollars premise. To get dollars,
we've been pulling the hours from server, then mating rates sheets outside of
the tool.
So, I know that I can modify views to remove certain information/fields and
we have of course limited rights to modify the Enterprise template.
But if I build views specifically for the broader team, that do not include
the rate info, can't the PMs still insert these fields via the fat client, on
their desktops, and get access to the rate info?
Thanks,
Doug
