A client using Access 2000 called and said she could not
enter more than a couple of paragraphs in a memo field.
When I looked at the form, there was an @ as the format
for that field. As soon as I removed the @ it became
possible to enter more text in the field. (I determined
that it was not a table problem because I was able to add
more text from the Datasheet window.) Later I looked at
the reports and they also had @'s in the memo field, and
this limited the amount of text that was printed
(apparently to 255 characters).
I doubt that the @ was intentionally added to the form and
reports, but can't be sure.
The main question is why does a single @ in a memo field
limit how much can be entered (form) or displayed (report)?
Thanks in advance.
