LINE CONNECTOR

I am creating a topology schematic using visio and I am having trouble
placing text twice onto the connector line between two nodes. For example
Fa0/0 to identify which interface is being used. I would like for the line
to be broken by any shapes or text I placed on the line.

If I understand the problem correctly, you have connector lines that
coincide with shape text. You would prefer that the connector have a small
gap around these items.

There are two steps to take here. First select the connector and choose
Shape > Order > Send to Back. Then select the shape with the text and
choose Format > Text > Text Block tab and set the Text Background to a solid
color.
