Line fees in Custom Properties

I am currently using Visio 2003 to create a custom property where text is
entered. I would like to be able to insert a line feed in a specific place
within the text, so that the text appears on two lines. Is this possible? I
know how to create line feeds in normal text entry (i.e. Shift+Enter), and
how to control the width of the shape, but I am not sure how to insert line
feeds within the custom property field.
Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks Al.
I have checked it out and while it is useful and interesting it still does
not answer my basic question of how to physically insert a line feed
character into the string of a custom property field.

Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.

Well you can do it with code. Unfortunately the standard custom propertiy
visio dialogs don't know what to do with it if you try to do it manually. If
you try to insert a cr/lf manually it obviously will fail when you press
enter to load it, and if the value field has a cr/lf in it when you go to
display it you end up with the substitute character (little squares) for the
cr/lf which I suspect is not what you want to see.
What are you trying to accomplish?

Hi Al

I need to create a shape with multiple text fields. I have created a group
with several custom properties. These custom properties then feed down into
subshapes which are text boxes. For each text box I have then displayed the
text fields using the insert field option. This is fine and displays the
text which I wish to display in the shape. However one of the fields can
sometimes contain multiple file names, so I would like to show each file name
on a separate line within the custom property rather than as a line of text.
Hence the question on whether it is possible to have line feeds in the custom
properties box which the user is able to create when they are entering in the
custom property text.

Many thanks for your help.
