Hi Alex,
Graphics and Objects in Word are anchored to a paragraph
in Word. If you delete the paragraph the graphic anchor
tries to find a new 'home paragraph'. To keep that from
happening, drag the anchor yourself to a location that
is not going to be deleted.
If you have dragged a graphic object to a specific location
then the lenght of the anchor line between the anchor point
(turn on Tools=Options=>General=>View to see the anchors
when you select a graphic) may be a fixed length causing
the graphics to jump. If on a graphic with white sizing
handles you have set [x] Allow Overlap
in Format=>Picture/Object=>/Layout\=>[Advanced]=>/Picture Position\
then the graphics can 'pile up'. If you turn the
overlap setting off then graphics with the same Layout
style will 'bump' each other out of the way.
========
How do you make line graphs work as graphics and not pile
up on each other if you delete a selection of a Word
document? >>

I hope this helps you,
