Line graphs not plotting properly

Hello

I have around 277 lines of data in two columns with the max figure
around 176. However, when I chart it in Excel (2004, X and 98) the max
is around 138, though the shape is generally correct (except it is
really smoothed out). I have checked the same data with Chartsmith and
the little sub-program in Illustrator and both of these scale
correctly and with all the bumps and grinds.

I do not have line smoothing on.

I have to do 48 charts each month, and all of them are more or less
inaccurate in Excel. Fortunately the final output is in Illustrator.

I guess there is something corrupt with my Excel preferences. I have
removed the Excel plist from library/preferences, but I still get the
same result. So is there anyplace else where I can change Excel or
related preferences? I could not find any for Excel graph.
Unfortunately I am not yet as familiar with OSX as I am with earlier
Mac OSes.

I have just upgraded to Office 2004 and I am using Mac 10.3.5. The
smoothing problem occurred with Office 2000 as well.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Hi Oz,

Unfortunately (in terms of offering suggestions) I can not reproduce the
problem you have described.

Is there any chance you can put an example workbook onto a .mac account
or perhaps email a sample to me (think of "hot" when you see "warmer
than warm" in my email address).
