Line highlight mode in One Note not working!

this is one note 2007.

Usually when I press a color to highlight(i.e. "yellow") then press "line",
- I can then click once and highlight some text in a straight line

- I remain in this mode where i can straight highlight until I press another
button.

All of a sudden, this straight highlight mode does not work anymore---I have
to keep pressing "line" to get back into it after each click. Before it would
just stay in the mode.

What do I do? Please help. It was a lot more efficient process before to
highlight my class notes.
