Line is not selectable or deletable

We have a user who converted a document from Word for the
Mac to Word 2000 for Windows XP. The document now has a
line that appears in it that was not there before and is
not selectable. Text just rolls around it. We would like to
get rid of it but literally cannot do anything with it. Any
ideas?
