Line spacing in PowerPoint

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I just acquired Office 2008 for Mac and am having difficulty with the line spacing in PPT when doing text - the paragraph decrease function that worked so well in Office 2004 won't respond most of the time and the spacing is more/larger than I would like. How can I tighten up the line spacing? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I found myself in your shoes as well! UUGGH! What I found was in select occacions, you can use the SHIFT + RETURN key combo to keep text at a tight level, but when you want it tighter, highlight the desired text box and CONTROL + CLICK and select FORMAT TEXT. The "Format Text" window will appear and you can click on "Paragraph" on the left side. This will give you many more options:
General
Indentation
Spacing

SPACING is where you want to make your changes. Where it says Single, click and select your line spacing. Personally, I like EXACTLY. This doesn't work so well when you change font sizes but if you have a consistent size, this should work well.

Hope this helps!
