Line Spacing

I have read all info on setting up single line spaces as default for
documents, incl "Change Styles" feature. Still unable to make it work
properly. From first line on doc, I hit enter expecting to go to next
line (single spacing). Cursor continues to be moved several lines down
line a large tab is set?

Check out the AutoFormat settings. It sounds like it is changing the first
line into a Heading (which if correct, the Heading Style will have a large
amount of Space After). Clear the Check box in the AutoFormat settings
dialog. The problem with most AutoFormat settings is that for a new user,
you are totally baffled: if you are an advanced User, you won't use them
anyway.
