Line/word breaking in PPT 2008 text boxes

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

If I have line breaking activated, PPT 2008 breaks the line in the text box but, at the same time, adds a space at the beginning of the new line, i.e. it appears like an indent. But I need everything left-aligned.
In the same context, word breaking does not work correctly: When manually adding a separator, it automatically jumps to the next line.

Also presentations from other machines that I open appear with indent on my screen but left-alinged on a PC. Printing results exactly as on my screen.

I checked all formatting options and tried to play with the tabulator but don't find a solution.

Can anybody help me here?

If you search through this forum you will find numerous posts that
describe this problem. I've had the problem with pre-2008 files since
upgrading to 12.1.
