Lines and shapes in OneNote do not move when extra spaces added

G

Why is the drawing and lines do not move together with text if I decided to
insert extra space in between?
In other words, how to make the lines and drawing (ie. circle, shapes..etc)
move together or align automatically with the text when you try to insert
extra spaces.

Thank you.

It is a little tricky in the current version of the product. You
essentially have to CTRL select each of the objects you want to move and
then try to drag them as a group to an empty space.

This is a known issue.

Thanks Ben.
But if I do what you suggest then it would get so crazy/mess up if I have 20
pages of notes and i make remark, circles, and arrow all over them at
different day and time.

I guess I cannot ctrl select those objects and group them at its original
spot and insert extra space later without being worry the text and objects
out of alignment.
Correct?

Unfortunately. That is a known issue in the current version of the
product -- when you have a lot of ink objects and you try to insert space
above them OneNote doesn't do a great job of preserving the layout below.

Office 2007 does not have anything usefull either. Will there ever
be a way to "group" objects?

It can *temporarily* done with the lasso tool.
But unfortuantely one can not make the grouping persistent :-( :-(

One of the really big holes in ON.

why can't I group? I find this better than having to lasso every time.
journal allows you to do this, as well as word and powerpoint.

I really miss it.

Because OneNote doesn't have this feature.

What stands out with ON is that IT IS A DIFFERENT PRODUCT than the rest of
the Office2007 tools. I find this inconsistency a major issue with the
product. Hopefully, future versions we'll unify these annoying differences.
The inability to GROUP is just one of many differences. Another is the fact
that shapes can't 'hold text' as in many of the other tools such as
PowerPoint . A shape can't be easily annotated. What about Ctrl-click to
multi-select; does not work either!
