lines between sections

I am running Word 20008 on Leopard.

The document is two columns, with sections running continuously. There is a way to make the section breaks clear by starting a new page. Is there a way to draw a line across both columns, in the middle of a page, so the section breaks are more clear when they run continuously?

I assume you are using Print Layout View? Click ¶ on the toolbar--this
will show nonprinting characters, including the section break lines.

Thanks Daiya.

Yes, I am in print layout view. What I want is a line that will be visible to others when I print the document. Not finding any such option in the "format document" window.

I'm not sure exactly what you want to effect here, but one option that may
serve...

If the multi-column section is followed by a single-column section you can
apply a Top Border to the first para of the single-column section. (The
border can also be included in a Style if you're using them.)
