Lines don't print as displayed under Office v.X 10.1.4

Hi,
I've got some company templates that I've been updating. They have a a
horizontal line drawn in one place, that is slightly shorter than the
distance between left and right margins, centered horizontally. THis
line prints correctly in Word 2002, but the first inch is missing when
printed from Word v.X 10.1.4. It worked correctly from my Mac 10 months
ago. At that time I was running Jaguar, and probably Office 10.1.2
(though I'm not really sure which version of Office is was). The
printing problem occurs in both Panther 10.3.3, and Jaguar 10.2.8.

I tried changing some of the settings on the line, but nothing's
worked. The error occurs in preview, as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
-jb

Hi Jon:

OK, I need to know what kind of line it is :)

Please describe (in detail) the steps you took to draw it (because Word has
at least three different objects that look like "lines" and I need to know
which one this is).

If it's a border, I would look for the paragraph margin.

If it's a table, I would look for the Table Indent

If it's a text box, I would look for the absolute position

If it's an AutoShape, I would look for the Wrapping settings

If it's anything else, I would look at the document margins.

Sorry: Not enough information :)

Cheers

Thanks, John. It was an Autoshape, and I ended up going to an earlier
incarnation of the template, and pasting it into the newer version.
Funny thing is, I don't recall changing the properties of the line. And
the fact that it printed correctly from Windows, but not Mac sure seems
like "unplanned behavior".

Thanks,

Thanks John:

Trust me, there's a whole raft of "unplanned behaviour" in Word X. This is
Work-Around Central here, and you're talking to the head station assistant
:)

Cheers
