lines print thicker than formatted

I have a flow shart and whenever I print it out, the some of the
swimlanes print darker than the others. They are all formatted the
same. Is it a printer problem or a Visio problem? I am using Visio

Sounds like a printer driver problem, check whether there are updates
available.
You could export the diagram in a graphics format, GIF or PNG, see
what that looks like on screen, then print it.

Well what happens if you print the drawing from another printer does the
issue still occur? If it is a printer or a driver issue it should go away.
