lining up numbers in a word documents

How do I get numbers to line up properly in a Word doc. Example: getting the 9 to line up with the 10--it will line up to the left instead of to the right.

Hi Grace -

It depends entirely on the nature of the list of figures;

If they're all whole numbers use a right aligned tab stop. If there are any
decimal values use a decimal tab stop instead. Search Word Help on Tabs if
you're not familiar with setting tab stops.

If these are currency values I generally set a separate tab stop for the
currency symbol plus one of the above for the figures.
