How can link a access table in my local access file ? is it possible?

I choose link table -->ODBC Databases()-->Creating new Dsn -->User Data
Source -->Microsoft Access Driver-->Choose
Database-->Network -->ftp.xx.com.tr /db/xx.mdb

It creates a connection but i cant see this connection? how can i do it?

It's ftp. It would need to download the database to use it.

Try a http connection to the IP of the server.

Try:

Fille ... Get External Data ... Link

then choose the data source and the database file then the tables. You do
not need to create a DSN for Access, dBase, Excel, text, Paradox, or FoxPro
tables. You only need to create one for ODBC databases like Oracle and
SQL-Server.

Hello Arvin:

I tried that on my system but I always receive a message stating the Jet
Engine Database cannot find the file [if table names are longer than 8
letters and they almost always are].

Is there a work around other than going into my other tables and shortening
the names to 8 letters or less? There is a reason I named my tables with
descriptive names and I don't want to give that up.

You can't use ftp here.

You must be able to browse via network neighborhood, and "see" the computer
in the list of computer, and then open the computer..and then browse the
folders and files. FTP does not allow you to do this. And, FTP is a file
transfer system. ms-access needs to read/write PARTS of the file..and FTP
has no such ability.

If the server is not on your network, then you need to have that server
joined to your network via what is called a VPN (Virtual Private network).
After that is done, then you will be able to browse files and folders on
that system as if it was part of your network.

however, be aware, that opening a file across the internet is not reliable.
