link access to excel

what i wanted to do was to link both excel and access together. in particular
the tables. this is so if i update the table from the access it will updat
the excel file.

I'm not sure I follow ... are you saying you wish to record the same "facts"
in two separate locations? Doing so leads to problems of synchronization --
which data store is "right" if they don't match? This is further compounded
in your situation if you have both Access and Excel files.
