I just "upgraded" from FrontPage 98 to FP 2002, and for
some reason the newer version doesn't accept the
navigation structure of my original website, even though I
haven't changed anything about the site's navigation
structure.
My site is pretty basic. It looks like a family tree with
three levels: One home page at the top, a second tier of
pages below the home page, and a third tier of pages below
the second tier.
I have put a shared top border on each page and have
placed a link bar (formerly known as a navigation bar) in
each border. What I want is for each link bar to show the
child pages below each page and also the parent page and
the home page. This structure worked just fine when I was
using FP 98, but 2002 is rejecting it. All it will
display in the link bar is EITHER the child pages OR the
parent and home pages, but not both.
In the Link Bar Properties window, I have checked "Child
level" in the left column and "Home page" and "Parent
page" in the right column. According to the little
diagram in that window, those are the proper settings.
But they're not working.
Any advice would be appreciated. Please email me at

P.S. It may help you to know that I lost my site's
original FP 98 files in a computer meltdown and had to
download the files from my host's servers after I fixed my
computer and installed FP 2002. Is it possible that
downloading from the Web made changes to my files that are
hard for FP 2002 to translate?
