LINK CELLS/WORKSHEET

I'm pretty new to excel. I have a workbook that has 5
worksheets in it. I want to type "July 2003" in my first
sheet cell A1 and have that copy to all worksheets in the
workbook. Can someone tell me that format?
Thanks

Hi

Go to sheet 2 and select cell A1 (or just wherever). Type
=
then go to sheet 1 and click cell A1. press Enter.
Now your cell has a formula like
=Sheet1!A1
and any entry or value in Sheet 1 A1 will be reflected here.

Select one sheet then hold down the Ctrl key and select the other four. All
five will now be selected and whatever you put in A1 on the visible sheet
will go into A1 on all of them. Don't forget to unselect all five by
selecting a single sheet when you've done.

If it's just a one-off, right-click on one of the tabs along the bottom and
click on 'Select all sheets'. Then you can type July 2003 into cell A1 and
it will be entered into each of the A1 cells on the selected sheets. When
you have finfished, please make sure you right-click on a tab and select
Ungroup Sheets before doing anything else, otherwise any changes you make
will be made to all sheets.
If you are going to change cell A1 regularly, and want that to be reflected
in all of the sheets, group the sheets you require, not including the first
one. In A1 on one of the grouped sheets type = and then click on the first
sheet's tab and click on cell A1 and press enter. This will link the A1 cell
on the first sheet to the A1 cells on the other sheets. Again, don't forget
to ungroup the sheets afterwards.

Andy.

Andy.

You need to put the formula
=Sheet1!A1
into cell A1 of each of the other four sheets in your workbook. Then
whatever is in A1 of Sheet1 will appear in A1 of all the other sheets.

To do this, you can either:
a) Type it into each of the sheets one at a time; or
a) Type it in Sheet2, then copy this and paste it into sheets 3 to 5
individually; or
b) Click the tab of Sheet2. Hold down SHIFT whilst clicking the tab of
Sheet5. This 'groups' sheets 2 to 5. You will see all the tabs go white.
Now, whatever you do in one sheet will be done in all of them. So, select
cell A1 and type the formula. DON'T FORGET - ungroup the sheets now! Right
click any of the grouped sheet tabs and use Ungroup Sheets.
