Link Command used in Excel for Windows

E

Eddie

Hi ...

I am trying to move completely from Windows to the Mac. When I use Excel for
Mac, I can't seem to link cells like I do in the windows version. In the Win
Version, when you copy a cell and then paste it in another cell, you get the
option to choose LINK which will keep the value the same in both cells. In
the Mac version there is no LINK option and I have to enter =C12 (as an
example) to copy the value to the new cell. This seems harder ... not
easier. Is there an easier way??

Thanks!!!

Hi Eddie,

Try this...

Select the source cell and use Edit>Copy or control-click (or right-click if
you have a 2 button mouse) and choose copy.

In the cell you wish to paste control-click, choose Paste Special then click
the Paste Link button.

If pasting links is something you do often, consider making a macro and
adding it as an item to the popup menu.
