Link excel cell to project fields

I want to use excel to input data into project. For example if I enter a
value into cell c3 I want that to relate to a task or subtask in project and
to populate that accordingly. Is this possible? Thanks

I do this quite a lot. However, I go from project to excel. I have found
that you need to keep both the project and the excel file in the same folder
and if you have a lot of links it can slow things up quite a lot. Could
anyone advise on if VBA could be used for this?

Andrew,
What I have done is put the Unique ID into Excel. Then I create and
import map that updates on the Unique ID

Works quite well.

Hi,

VBA could be used but

If you want it to be event driven (updating Excel the second you update
Project ) it isn't rocket speed either
Obviously the Excel file has to be open
OTOH VBA has far more possibilities like checking when you do the transfer
and if, depending on values, etc.

Hi Glen

Could you run me through how to do the operation you mentioned below. I
can't seem to get it to work.

Thanks

Ben
