Link Excel to word

I have done calculation on an excel spreadsheet, pasted on a WORD document, formatted it the report and linked the two documents. When I changed the excel calculation on excel, the formatting on the WORD document are gone. Is there a way to update the WORD document without disturbing the formatting.

Any help is appreciated.

You can't apply formatting to part of a Word field's display; any time you update the field, your formatting will be lost. You may get better results using a different paste format, or by changing the formatting in Excel.
