Link to Database

I try to link a drawing to a database (Sybase or MySQL) by using the
LINK TO DATABASE wizard. I successfully link a shape to the database
and all the fields in the database are copied to the custom properties
of the shape, but when I try to do right-click=>SELECT DATABASE RECORD
to link that shape to a specific record, nothing happens. The custom
properties of the shape remain empty.
I found this article, but it doesn't apply to me since my document was
created using Visio 2003.

Looks like I spoke too soon. In Visio 2002, the Visio graphic engine was
rewritten to support GDI+. One of the side effects is that custom line
patterns no longer support partial segments (only whole segments) So as you
stretch a line, the line pattern also stretches until it reaches a point
where it snaps back and a new segment is added. Not a behaviour that would
be suitable for a ruler.
