Link to Excel not working in Word table?

Hello,

I'm trying to create a link from word to an excel cell.
I tried it by the book by copy the desired cell(s) in excel and paste
it as unformated text excel worksheet. This is working great.

But, if I try to adopt the very same procedure by placing the field in
table (word), the link reports an error.

I even tried to copy the entire (working) field (link) outside the
table. As long as I paste the field outside the table, everything is
running great. But as soon as I copy it into a table, the same error
appears.

I'm running OfficeXP and now I'm totally clueless.This behaviour is
easy to reproduce :-(

Any ideas? Would be most appreciated.

To be more specific:
The link works in the upper left cell and in the last row (except the
first cell).
But in each other cell I got an invalid link error.

Any ideas?

Okay,

Problem solved.
Upgrading of the latest ServicePack (SP3) seems to fix that bug.
