Link to tables in later version

In Access 97, I'd like to link to tables in an Access
2000 database. Access 97 doesn't recognise the 2000
database format.
I can work around it by using a database query in Excel,
but this seems ridiculous! I'm sure I'm missing
something here.
(Converting the Access 97 database is not an option,
unfortunately.)

Sorry: it can't be done.

Try converting the tables from the Access 2000 database to Access 97 format.
Then you'll be able to use them from both versions.
