Link to Tasks

Does anyone know a way to remove completed tasks from the task box that pops up when you try and link emails to existing tasks in Entourage?

I have need to keep the old tasks on file but am finding it's making this particular list very long to search through. I have sorted it when viewing my task but can't seem to find something to hide them during this process. ANY help would be welcome.
Many Thanks.

You know I've never tried that option and thought it might be the setting to
show all tasks or incomplete tasks, but you are correct all old tasks show
up in the link to tasks. This looks like a feature that wasn't tested
properly.

Send feedback to Microsoft.

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications or visit

I'll ask around and see if there is some way to modify this.

No that can't be done. There are a few quirks in links that have
always been there although a couple of things were fixed in 08. You're
best just to sort on date. If your list is still too cumbersome this
way archive your tasks to say an archive identity, which can still be
searched in spotlight and that will tell you switch identities or just
switch identities to find the item and your list will of course be
shorter. I find tasks are the most amenable to archiving as that
information becomes irrelavant fairly quickly but there is often much
there I want to keep for archival purposes. Feedback this to Microsoft
of course but I wouldn't expect to see this functionality that you
want anytime in the near or probably even distant future (scan the
various forums around Office and most specifically Entourage and
you'll quickly see why I say this).

Sorry to say this appears to be an overlooked feature. As a workaround and
not a very good one, would be to export as Entourage archive (.rge) file
your tasks. Delete the completed tasks after exporting. I don't think you
can export completed only. Archiving would reduce the number to scroll
through and give you a backup. Like I said 'not a very good workaround.'

If you need access archived tasks, I would create a new Identity in
Entourage and name it "Tasks". Import these Entourage archive (.rge) files
into the Identity. You could then switch Identities to view.

You would also need to deal with the duplicates. I'm pretty sure this can be
done with a script.

BTW, one of the best of show applications for MacWorld was an application
called Things. I took a look and really like the interface.

Lastly, do you use the link to an existing task a lot or do you create a new
task most?
