Link .txt File - Date Format

I'm linking a delimited text file using a special character þ
as the delimitor. There are two date fields in the file which I'm
formatting to a date/time format in the import spec. However, the date
fields in the text file are the MS Excel integer equivalent number rather
than 01/01/2005 format. MS Access is not converting it to the date but
rather leaves it the number and I get an error in the Link view. How do I
get MS Access to recognize the data as a date rather than the MS Excel
interger equivalent?

Please disregard question. I have since found out the field is a numeric
system date field not related to the MS Excel numeric date equivalent.
Therefore MS access would have no way of knowing how to convert the numeric
numbers to the proper date. Sorry for the post.

Don't you know that Access uses the same as MS Excel numeric date equivalent?
